Al-Tawahi authorities conduct drainage maintenance and market inspections
Local authorities in the Al-Tawahi district of Aden are conducting field operations to address infrastructure and commercial issues following recent weather events.
Sanitation teams are working to clear rainwater drainage channels and maintain the sewage network to prevent flooding in residential neighborhoods. These efforts follow light to moderate rainfall caused by a recent atmospheric depression. Targeted areas include Al-Riasah, Al-Arusa, Al-Fath, and several other neighborhoods to improve service efficiency and public health.
Simultaneously, the Office of Industry and Trade has launched regulatory campaigns in the Al-Tawahi and Al-Qalua markets. Inspections focused on verifying food safety, checking price compliance, and ensuring hygiene standards. The campaign resulted in the seizure of smuggled goods, including cigarettes and ‘Shamat al-Hout’, which were slated for destruction as part of ongoing efforts to protect consumers and enforce trade regulations.
