Çalı Village Film Festival concludes after three days
The 10th Çalı Village Film Festival, organized by Nilüfer Municipality in collaboration with the Çalı Environment and Culture Association (ÇEKÜDER), has concluded its three-day program. The event featured film screenings, discussions, concerts, workshops, and nature walks, with opportunities for attendees to camp in the area.
A highlight of the festival was the short film competition, which received 128 applications. After a preliminary jury review, 15 films reached the final stage. The awards included Best Documentary, won by Ozan Takış for 'Salman Gitmek İstiyor', and Best Fiction, awarded to Utku Ali Gül for 'Feridun'.
During the closing ceremony, Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir highlighted the historical connection between Çalı and cinema, noting that the 1934 film 'Aysel Bataklı Damın Kızı' was filmed in the village. He emphasized that the festival continues to bridge the village's cinematic heritage with new generations.
