Texas Rangers tie for AL West lead after beating Red Sox

The Texas Rangers defeated the Boston Red Sox 7-3 on Wednesday night, moving to a .500 record (76-76) and tying the Houston Astros for the lead in the American League West. The victory was fueled by a tiebreaking seventh-inning double from Brandon Nimmo and a two-run single by Ezequiel Duran.

Nathan Eovaldi earned the win in his second appearance since returning from a month-long absence due to elbow inflammation. Eovaldi provided critical relief, allowing only one hit over four scoreless innings. The Rangers' win comes during a four-game winning streak as they push for a postseason spot.

The Red Sox (82-70) struggled offensively, striking out 15 times and failing to record an extra-base hit during several key stretches of the game. Despite an early two-run home run by Willson Contreras, Boston could not overcome the Rangers' late surge. The Red Sox currently hold the second American League wild card spot by five games.
