Alaafin of Oyo calls for national unity and commends Nigerian Army security efforts

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has called for increased national unity and collaboration between religious leaders, government institutions, and civil society to drive development in Nigeria. Speaking at the commissioning of the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Building, the monarch emphasized that embracing diversity and fostering consensus is essential to overcoming ethnic and religious divisions.

In a separate development regarding regional stability, the Alaafin commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts to strengthen security within the Oyo Kingdom. This follows the establishment of the new 7 Brigade in the area, a move approved by Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu. Major General Auwalu Mahmuda, the General Officer Commanding of the 2 Division, visited the palace to ensure the successful deployment of troops to the strategic location, which aims to address contemporary security challenges.
