Alabama Crimson Tide release depth chart ahead of season opener
The Alabama Crimson Tide have released their depth chart ahead of their season opener. Sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell has been named the starter. The offensive line and wide receiver positions also saw several starters named, including Ryan Coleman-Williams, Lotzeir Brooks, and Rico Scott. Notably, wide receiver Noah Rogers and running back AK Dear are missing from the chart due to injuries.
On the running back depth chart, Daniel Hill is listed as RB1, followed by Trae'shawn Brown and Kevin Riley. All three are listed with an “OR” designation, suggesting a rotation. Freshman EJ Crowell has been cleared to play and is listed as the fourth running back.
Amidst these roster updates, ESPN analyst Greg McElroy addressed rumors regarding head coach Kalen DeBoer’s job security. Responding to criticisms from personalities like Paul Finebaum, McElroy stated that DeBoer is “in absolutely no jeopardy of losing his job.” McElroy noted that the coach maintains significant leverage with the university, citing a contract buyout figure of approximately $67 million.
