Ryan Grubb apologizes to Alabama fans after criticizing 'boo birds

Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has issued an apology to the Crimson Tide fanbase following controversial remarks made during a press conference. Grubb criticized fans for booing the team during a recent game against Florida State, where Alabama overcame an early deficit to win 50-36.

During the press conference, Grubb stated that he told his players, “if you’d have quit as fast as some of your fans, shit, we wouldn’t have won that game.” The comments drew significant backlash on social media.

In a subsequent statement released via the university's NIL collective, Grubb apologized, noting that his passion for the team led him to use insensitive wording. He described the fanbase as an “incredible” source of inspiration and expressed his desire to move forward and give the fans something to cheer about.
