Alabama football dismisses Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. following arrest
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has dismissed junior defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. from the football program. The decision follows Kirkpatrick’s arrest on two misdemeanor charges: doxxing and harassing communications.
According to court documents, the charges stem from an incident involving a University of Alabama Police Department officer who was involved in Kirkpatrick’s previous arrest in 2025. Kirkpatrick allegedly sent the officer a profanity-laced Facebook message and posted a photograph of the officer and his family on his social media profile with the caption, “Dis him?".
This marks the second major disciplinary incident for Kirkpatrick in two seasons. He was previously indefinitely suspended in late 2025 following charges of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude, and speeding. Kirkpatrick is a legacy player at the university, being the son of former Alabama All-American and NFL cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick Sr.
