Alabama Crimson Tide football enters critical fall camp scrimmage week

The Alabama Crimson Tide football team is entering a critical phase of fall camp as they prepare for their season opener against East Carolina on September 5. The team is scheduled to hold its second scrimmage this Thursday, which will serve as a decisive moment for several roster positions.

Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack has emphasized the importance of this week, noting that decisions regarding the defensive rotation and starters will be made following the scrimmage. While some positions like safety and cornerback are largely settled, battles continue at inside linebacker. Transfers such as Caleb Woodson, Devan Thompkins, and Terrance Green are expected to play significant roles in the rotation.

On the offensive side, head coach Kalen DeBoer and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb are managing a competitive quarterback battle. While the coaching staff has indicated they are getting closer to naming a starter, the competition between players like Austin Mack and Keelon Russell remains a focal point. Additionally, the offensive line is working to improve its performance following recent scrimmage evaluations.
