Alabama dismisses Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. following police harassment arrest
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer announced Tuesday the dismissal of junior defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. from the football program. The decision follows Kirkpatrick’s arrest on misdemeanor charges of harassing communications and doxing.
According to court records, Kirkpatrick allegedly sent a profanity-laced Facebook Messenger message to a University of Alabama police officer and posted a photo of the officer, his wife, and their two children on social media with the caption “Dis him?”. The officer involved, Christopher Fuerch, reported feeling “immediately alarmed” due to a previous encounter in November 2025, during which Kirkpatrick allegedly attempted to elude police during a traffic stop.
Kirkpatrick, the son of former Alabama and NFL player Dre Kirkpatrick Sr., had a history of disciplinary and legal issues. He previously faced suspensions following the 2025 traffic stop incident and was reportedly charged in June with unlawfully operating a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident. He had appeared in the first seven games of the current season before his recent arrest.
