Alabama football coach announces freshman lineman Chris Booker is no longer with team

Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer announced during a Monday press conference that freshman offensive lineman Chris Booker is no longer with the team. DeBoer stated, “Booker, right now, is not with our team,” but did not provide specific details regarding the circumstances of his departure.

Booker, a 6-foot-4, 288-pound interior lineman from Atlanta, Georgia, was a highly regarded four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. He was ranked as the No. 10 interior lineman nationally by 247Sports. Booker enrolled early in January and participated in spring training, summer workouts, and fall camp before his absence was noted.
