Alabama football falls to No. 11 in preseason coaches poll

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team was ranked No. 11 in the latest preseason coaches poll, the lowest preseason placement since 2008. The poll, compiled by USA Today and voted on by 73 FBS head coaches, placed Alabama as the sixth‑highest team in the SEC, with five other conference schools occupying spots in the top ten.

Alabama enters its third season under head coach Kalen DeBoer after a quarter‑final finish in the previous College Football Playoffs and a No. 9 finish in the final coaches poll. The ranking comes ahead of the upcoming season, with fall camp set to begin Wednesday and the starting quarterback still to be decided between Keelon Russell and Austin Mack.
