Alabama football players receive injury updates ahead of season opener

Alabama football head coach Kalen DeBoer and reports from On3’s Chris Low have provided updates on several key offensive players dealing with injuries.

Freshman running back EJ Crowell is considered ‘iffy’ for the season opener against East Carolina due to a nagging right calf injury. However, he is expected to be available for the SEC opener against Kentucky in week two. Running back AK Dear, who underwent tightrope surgery for a lower-body injury sustained during fall camp, is also projected to return by the end of September.

Wide receiver Noah Rogers is making significant progress following a serious knee injury sustained during the spring A-Day scrimmage. Coach DeBoer noted that Rogers is ‘much ahead of schedule’ from original expectations and has recently been able to get on the field during practice, though he is not yet participating in full team drills.
