Alabama faces Mississippi State in matchup of unbeaten teams

No. 7 Alabama is set to face No. 16 Mississippi State this Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium in a highly anticipated matchup between two unbeaten teams. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 4-0 record, bolstered by a recent 31-24 comeback victory against No. 19 Missouri. Mississippi State's offense has been productive, averaging 43 points per game, led by sophomore quarterback Kamario Taylor.

Alabama, led by head coach Kalen DeBoer, has shown significant offensive growth in the 2026 season, becoming the first FBS program since 2019 to score 45 or more points in each of its first four games. Quarterback Keelon Russell and running back Daniel Hill have been central to this scoring surge. While Alabama has historically struggled in certain road environments, they enter this game following a dominant 45-17 win over Kentucky.

Coach DeBoer has noted the rapid development of Mississippi State under Jeff Lebby, specifically praising the team's speed and execution. The game is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff and will be broadcast on ABC.
