Alabama gubernatorial candidates to visit Tuscaloosa

Alabama gubernatorial candidates Doug Jones and Tommy Tuberville are scheduled to visit Tuscaloosa this week as the state approaches the November 3 election. Jones, the Democratic candidate, will hold a town hall event at the University of Alabama on Monday to answer voter questions and emphasize the importance of voter registration.

Republican candidate Tommy Tuberville will host a meet-and-greet at Hotel Capstone on Wednesday. Tuberville’s campaign is currently conducting a statewide tour featuring rallies and community events. While both candidates were invited to host individual forums, only Jones responded to the invitation.

In a recent address in Huntsville, Jones rejected statements made by Tuberville, instead highlighting the economic and defense contributions of North Alabama. Meanwhile, Tuberville has advocated for rural manufacturing as a primary method for maintaining rural Alabama hospitals.
