Alabama high school football season begins with Week 0 and Week 1 games

The 2026 Alabama high school football season has commenced with Week 0 and Week 1 action across the state. Despite delays caused by lightning and rain on Friday night, several games were completed.

In West Alabama, American Christian Academy secured a 28-14 victory over the Northridge Jaguars, aided by two interceptions from Caleb Hines. Meanwhile, the Hillcrest Patriots delivered a dominant 64-0 win against Tuscaloosa County. Tuscaloosa Academy also started their season with a 33-12 win over Sulligent, led by quarterback Mark Norris, who recorded five touchdowns.

Other notable scores from the opening period include victories for Gordo (33-27 over Fayette County), Holy Spirit (35-0 over Waterloo), Northside (49-27 over Winfield), Sipsey Valley (48-12 over Marion County), and Holt (42-0 over R. C. Hatch).
