Alabama launches new ‘My Outdoor Alabama’ licensing platform

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) has launched ‘My Outdoor Alabama’, a new cloud-based online platform for hunting and fishing licenses. The system, developed in partnership with Tyler Technologies, replaces a custom-built licensing system that had been in use for approximately 20 years.

ADCNR Commissioner Chris Blankenship stated that while the previous system functioned adequately, the upgrade was necessary to bring the state’s licensing capabilities into the modern era. The new platform is designed to simplify license purchases, account management, and the tracking of outdoor records.

Existing user data, including license history, hunter education certifications, and harvest records, has been migrated to the new system. However, saved payment information was not transferred. Users must re-enter credit card details and manually opt back into auto-renewal services if they previously utilized that feature.
