Alabama officials celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

Alabama officials and industry groups are observing National Truck Driver Appreciation Week to honor the professional drivers essential to the nation's supply chain. Governor Kay Ivey and U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville issued statements thanking the hardworking professionals who transport goods, noting that more than 80% of U.S. communities rely exclusively on trucks for freight.

To mark the occasion, the Alabama Trucking Association released a new song titled ‘Get Miles’ in collaboration with the band Heroes of the Highway. The post-grunge track serves as a tribute to seasoned professionals navigating the highway. The association emphasized that its support for drivers includes advocating for higher professional standards and protecting the earning power and safety of those in the industry.
