Alabama Opens Nominations for Women Who Shape the State 2027

The nonprofit initiative Women Who Shape the State has opened nominations for its 2027 class. Residents are invited to nominate women who have made a measurable impact in education, health care, business, the arts, public service or nonprofit work across Alabama. Nominations must be submitted by August 21 2026. A panel of judges will review the entries and select honorees who will be recognized at a luncheon on March 4 2027 at The Club in Birmingham. The program, run by This is Alabama and presented by the Poarch Creek Indians, celebrates and public‑profiles women who are moving the state forward.
