Alabama Renames Montgomery Attorney General Building for Gov. Kay Ivey

The Alabama Attorney General’s Office building in downtown Montgomery has been officially renamed the Kay Ivey Office Building. The change follows House Joint Resolution 253, approved by the state legislature and signed by Governor Kay Ivey, and was completed with new exterior signage installed by state crews.

Lawmakers highlighted Ivey’s record as the longest‑serving governor in Alabama’s history and cited achievements such as the Rebuild Alabama infrastructure program, broadband expansion, the CHOOSE Act, new prison construction, and roughly $69 billion in capital investment that created over 100,000 jobs. The building now joins a small group of Capitol complex structures named for former governors.
