Alabama Secures Four-Star Linebacker Tysir Young for 2028 Recruiting Class
Tysir Young, a 2028 four-star linebacker from Middletown, Delaware, announced a verbal commitment to the University of Alabama. Ranked No. 109 overall and No. 7 at his position, Young chose Alabama over offers from LSU, Ohio State and other programs. His pledge gives the Crimson Tide seven early commits for the 2028 class, the most of any program at this stage, and marks the fourth blue‑chip linebacker to join the roster before the junior season.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer, entering his third year in Tuscaloosa, said the early additions reflect Alabama’s continued emphasis on high‑level recruiting. Young remarked, “When I walked in, it was so different than the other schools I’d been to… the way they recruited me kept them high on my list.” The early momentum adds to Alabama’s ongoing effort to build one of the nation’s top recruiting classes for the 2028 cycle.
