Alabama Shakes releases first new album in over a decade

Alabama Shakes has released their first album in over a decade, titled ‘I Must Be Dreaming’. The project marks a reunion for the band, which includes lead singer Brittany Howard, Zac Cockrell, and Heath Fogg, following a hiatus that began in 2018.

Lead singer Brittany Howard described the album's themes as a reflection of a changing and often strange world, seeking to find beauty and joy despite recent global upheavals. The 11-track record blends various genres, including blues, soul, folk, and Americana.

The reunion was sparked by a spontaneous rehearsal for a fundraiser performance in Tuscaloosa, which led the members to begin recording together again. The new music is described as both a mature evolution of their sound and a nostalgic return to their collaborative roots.
