Alabama suspects granted bond following Aniah’s Law hearings
Two separate legal proceedings in Alabama involving Aniah’s Law resulted in bond being granted for defendants accused of violent crimes.
In Morgan County, Michael Allen Callahan, 45, was granted a $75,000 bond. Callahan faces charges of first-degree burglary and domestic violence by strangulation. He is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s Hartselle home, assaulting her, and threatening her life. District Judge Kevin Kusta ordered Callahan to participate in pretrial supervision and prohibited him from contacting the victim.
In a separate case, Casper Salcido was granted a $100,000 bond following an Aniah’s Law hearing. Salcido is charged with the murder of 19-year-old Victor Nava in Decatur.
