Bologna A14 motorway accident kills Moldovan worker
A 45-year-old Moldovan worker, Ruslan Railean, was killed on the A14 motorway near Bologna, Italy, while setting up a construction site for railway bridge maintenance. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, September 26, near the Navile district.
According to investigators, a Citroën Picasso struck Railean while he was working in a lane that had been closed to traffic for the maintenance works. The driver, a 54-year-old Italian man from Modena, was found to have a blood alcohol content of 2.10 g/l, which is more than four times the legal limit.
The driver was arrested and is being investigated for road homicide. Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage and witness testimonies to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident.
