Alabama utilities restore power following Hurricane Isaias

Utility companies are working to restore electricity across Alabama following the impact of Hurricane Isaias. Alabama Power reported that approximately 30,000 customers remained without power as crews from 25 states arrived to assist in restoration efforts.

In Baldwin County, Baldwin EMC announced that power restoration is complete for all meters that can safely receive electricity. At the peak of the storm's impact, the cooperative reported that more than 52,000 meters were without power. Officials credited the rapid recovery to a comprehensive disaster plan and the support of nearly 300 mutual-aid partners.
