Alabama volunteer teacher arrested after altercation with child over Pokemon cards

A 77-year-old volunteer teacher, Oscar Truitt Jr., has been arrested following an altercation with a student under the age of 10 at Jerry Lee Faine Elementary School in Dothan, Alabama.

The incident occurred on August 31. According to the Dothan Police Department, the confrontation began over Pokemon cards. School resource officers responded to the scene, and subsequent investigations involving school surveillance footage reportedly showed Truitt striking the child several times during the dispute.
