Alabama woman indicted for threatening to shoot Donald Trump

Megan Lorraine Utz, 36, of Courtland, Alabama, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on two counts: threats against the President of the United States and interstate transmission of threatening communication.

The indictment follows a Facebook post allegedly made by Utz on October 5, in which she stated, “I’ll put a bullet through him if he dares.” The threat was directed at Donald Trump regarding his planned attendance at an Alabama-Georgia football game in Tuscaloosa.

Utz was located in Florence, Alabama, by FBI agents, Secret Service agents, and local police on October 6. She was initially arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for harassing communications before federal charges were filed. U.S. Attorney Phil Williams stated that law enforcement remains committed to addressing threats against national leaders.
