Turkey rescue operations involve sheep and a climbing cat
In Konya's Karapınar district, a sheep fell into a 10-meter-deep pit while grazing. After being missing for two days, the animal was located when a shepherd heard its cries. Konya Metropolitan Municipality fire crews conducted a one-hour operation to successfully rescue the sheep, which was found exhausted due to hunger and thirst.
Separately, in Burdur, a cat that had been trapped in a 7-meter-deep ventilation shaft for two days performed an unexpected escape. While firefighters were preparing a rescue using rope ladders and cages, the cat managed to climb the smooth wall and exit the shaft on its own before responders could secure it.
