Alaşehir infrastructure project nears completion to prevent flooding

The Manisa Water and Sewerage Administration (MASKİ) is nearing completion of a 1.2-kilometer collector line project in the Alaşehir district of Manisa. The project aims to provide a permanent solution to recurring flooding and septic overflows in the Baklacı neighborhood during periods of heavy rainfall.

Technical details of the work include the installation of 600mm diameter pipes to increase the capacity of the main collector line leading to the treatment plant. By laying a new line parallel to the existing one, officials intend to reduce the water flow volume in the current system by half, preventing overflows from the main line and septic systems.

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Besim Dutlulu and Alaşehir Mayor Ahmet Öküzcüoğlu both noted that the project, carried out in coordination with local municipalities, addresses a long-standing infrastructure issue in the region.
