Alagoas auditor career restructured ahead of new Sefaz competition
On 17 June, the State Treasury of Alagoas (Sefaz AL) published Law 9.945/2026, which reorganises the state’s fiscal audit career. The law merges the former Auditor of Finance, Control and Collection and Auditor Fiscal positions into a single role – Auditor Fiscal of the State Tax Administration (AFTE) – and caps the career at 450 posts.
The new framework sets a basic salary of R$3,000, potentially reaching R$10,000 at the top of the career, with an additional productivity award. It also stipulates that a new public contest must be called when vacancies exceed 5 % of the total. The state announced a forthcoming competition for 50 positions – 25 immediate hires and 25 reserve slots – with the Cebraspe testing institute expected to act as the organizing body.
The reform is intended to modernise tax‑collection functions, broaden responsibilities to include fiscal oversight, public finance and information‑technology tasks, and make the career more attractive to candidates nationwide.
