Alagoas businessman wins R$ 1.5 million Porsche in political bet
An entrepreneur and farmer in Alagoas, Brazil, has received a red Porsche 911 GTS valued at approximately R$ 1.5 million following a high-stakes political wager. Antônio Cintra, a supporter of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, won the luxury vehicle from a supporter of Flávio Bolsonaro after the outcome of the presidential election was confirmed.
The agreement was reportedly finalized roughly 15 days before the election through a mutual intermediary who held the funds. While Cintra provided R$ 1.5 million in cash, his opponent, a tobacco industry businessman, provided the high-performance German sports car. The vehicle, which had only 335 kilometers on the odometer, features a T-Hybrid system delivering 541 horsepower.
This marks the second time Cintra has won a major vehicle through an election-related bet with the same opponent, having previously won a Ram pickup in 2022. Cintra stated he intends to use the car for a few months before putting it up for sale due to his frequent work travel.
