Pernambuco Government Announces 5,337 Public Sector Vacancies

The State of Pernambuco will open a public‑service recruitment offering a total of 5,337 positions. The vacancies are divided among three areas: 3,905 jobs in security forces (including Police Militar, Corpo de Bombeiros, Polícia Civil, and Polícia Penal), 1,263 jobs in health (doctors, health analysts, health assistants and sanitary surveillance inspectors), and 169 positions at the Universidade de Pernambuco (technical analysts, technical assistants and university doctors). The contest is expected to be announced in the Official Gazette soon, with the specific editals to follow.

Applicants will need to meet the usual public‑service requirements for each role, such as relevant professional qualifications, registration with the appropriate professional councils and clearance of background checks. The large scale of the hiring effort is intended to reinforce public safety, expand health services and support university administration across the state.
