Alagoas Electoral Court launches campaign‑finance training and orders removal of AI‑generated election ads

The Regional Electoral Court of Alagoas (TRE/AL) announced two training sessions in July aimed at improving transparency and compliance for the 2026 elections. The first workshop on July 10 will be open to external participants such as party representatives, campaign accountants, candidates, lawyers and accountants, focusing on rules for fundraising, spending, reporting and the new TSE Conta+JE system. The second session on July 16 targets internal court staff, covering technical procedures for examining electoral accounts and using electronic systems.

In parallel, TRE/AL issued four urgent decisions ordering the removal of social‑media content that violated pre‑campaign election rules. The rulings targeted posts that used artificial‑intelligence‑generated images or satire without proper labeling, including material posted by deputy Luiz Alberto Alves Teixeira that depicted a pre‑candidate as “Renóquio,” and other posts linking the pre‑candidate Renan Filho to alleged wrongdoing. The court emphasized that freedom of expression does not protect fabricated or misleading content that seeks to degrade political opponents, and it ordered the offending material taken down while preserving legitimate journalistic reporting.
