Alagoas judges educate 500 students on domestic violence

Judges from the Alagoas Judiciary conducted educational sessions for approximately 500 students in Coité do Nóia and Taquarana to combat domestic violence. Part of the ‘Agosto Lilás’ initiative, the lectures aimed to inform young people about different types of violence, reporting methods, and the protections provided by the Maria da Penha and Henry Borel laws.

In Coité do Nóia, the sessions took place at the José de Sena Filho Municipal School. Judges Marcell Menezes and Matheus de Miranda emphasized that domestic violence affects all ages, colors, and social classes, providing students with the autonomy to handle incidents in classrooms or homes. In Taquarana, lectures were held at the Professora Graciene Alencar State School and the Maria Iraci Teófilo de Castro Municipal School, involving social assistance technicians and child protective services.
