Alagoas launches mandatory livestock registration update
The Alagoas Agency for Agricultural Defense and Inspection (Adeal) has announced the second stage of its mandatory livestock registration update campaign, running from November 1 to November 30. The update is required for producers of various species, including cattle, swine, poultry, fish, and bees.
This registration process is a key requirement for Alagoas to maintain its sanitary status as a zone free of foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination, a status granted by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) last year. Producers can complete the update online via the Sigeal system or in person at agency units. Failure to comply may result in administrative sanctions, such as the blocking of Animal Transit Guides (GTA), which are essential for transporting livestock.
