Alagoas Legislative Assembly reviews Otávio Lessa for Arsal presidency

Otávio Lessa, a counselor for the Alagoas State Court of Accounts (TCE-AL), underwent a hearing before the Constitution and Justice Commission of the Alagoas Legislative Assembly (ALE) regarding his nomination for the presidency of the Alagoas State Public Services Regulatory Agency (Arsal).

During the hearing, Lessa expressed his intention to reconcile the interests of businesses and society through dialogue. The nomination now moves to a plenary vote scheduled for Wednesday. If approved, a formal inauguration ceremony will be held.

Recent legislative changes have extended the term for agency directors from two to five years, with no possibility of reappointment, a move intended to provide greater stability to the leadership responsible for overseeing public services in the state.
