Alagoas police investigate fatal pedestrian accident in Maceió

The Civil Police of Alagoas are investigating the death of 15-year-old Ruan Wilson de Lima Silva, who was struck by a vehicle while crossing a pedestrian walkway on Avenida Durval de Góes Monteiro in Maceió.

According to Delegate Carlos Reis, the driver was traveling at high speed when the collision occurred. Witnesses report that the teenager was walking alongside his bicycle and attempting to complete his crossing as the traffic light changed. The victim died at the scene.

Investigators are currently examining potential failures in the initial emergency response, noting that the area was not properly isolated and that the driver filed a police report hours later. The family of the teenager has called for justice, citing witness accounts that the driver ignored traffic signals and exceeded speed limits.
