Brazil elections: JHC leads in Alagoas as Goiás faces political shifts

Political campaigns are intensifying across Alagoas and Goiás. In Alagoas, Senate candidate Arthur Lira presented proposals for health, education, and public security, emphasizing the need for better medical regulation and increased policing at borders.

In the Alagoas gubernatorial race, polling indicates JHC holds a significant lead over Renan Filho. Recent data shows JHC with approximately 47% of the vote compared to Renan Filho's 35-41%, suggesting a potential first-round victory. Both candidates are shifting strategies, with Renan Filho increasing his presence in Maceió while JHC expands into the state's interior.

In Goiás, the political landscape is marked by internal friction within the PL party. Mayors supporting Daniel Vilela have caused a crisis, leading to potential disciplinary actions against dissidents. Meanwhile, candidate Gracinha Caiado secured support from 76% of the councilors in Aparecida de Goiânia. Lucas Vergilio has also launched his campaign for federal deputy in the same city, backed by Governor Daniel Vilela.
