Alain Diouf appointed Senegal minister to oversee Agenda 2050

President Bassirou Diakhar Faye appointed Alain Diouf as a minister attached to the presidency, tasked with monitoring, evaluating and coordinating the implementation of Senegal’s long‑term development plan, Agenda Senegal 2050. The appointment was made by decree n°2026‑1143 on 5 June 2026.

Diouf’s mandate includes strategic follow‑up of priority projects, measurement of results and recommendation of adjustments to reach objectives such as accelerated industrialisation, economic sovereignty, infrastructure modernization, improved basic social services and sustainable, inclusive growth. The new portfolio aims to strengthen institutional oversight of the national transformation agenda.
