Alajuelense coach Ismael Rescalvo outlines season goals and discipline measures

Ismael Rescalvo, the newly appointed coach of Costa Rican club Alajuelense, said he is focused on winning the upcoming Supercopa against Herediano on 12 July and targeting the national championship later in the year. He noted that past Spanish coaches at the club had mixed results and stressed that he will work with full motivation to achieve those objectives.

Rescalvo also addressed recent disciplinary incidents involving former players Alejandro Bran and Kenneth Vargas, stating that the club’s stance on conduct is clear and that the matters are now resolved. He emphasized that the squad’s focus remains on improving internal competition, integrating youth players from the U‑17, U‑19 and U‑21 ranks, and building a strong team for the 2026‑27 season.
