Alajuelita unveils Monte Alto urban renewal project
The Municipality of Alajuelita has unveiled the Monte Alto Comprehensive Urban Project, a public-private initiative aimed at urban renewal in Costa Rica. The project successfully converted a neglected vacant lot into a community park, a development expected to benefit approximately 17,000 residents in the Monte Alto neighborhood.
The project was funded with a total of $204,000. The Municipality of Alajuelita contributed $99,000, while the CRUSA Foundation provided $82,500 and the Yamuni Tabush Foundation contributed $22,500. This collaborative funding model was utilized to drive local infrastructure improvements without overextending municipal budgets.
