Alan Carr receives surprise Special Recognition award at NTAs

Comedian and television presenter Alan Carr received a surprise Special Recognition award at the National Television Awards. The 50-year-old was visibly moved by the tribute, which included a musical performance by Paloma Faith, who was carried onto the stage in a coffin as a nod to Carr’s role in ‘Celebrity Traitors’.

Other presenters and celebrities, including Amanda Holden and Kate Garraway, participated in the tribute. Carr noted that he did not realize the award was for him until the musical number began. Reflecting on his career, including his former show ‘Alan Carr: Chatty Man’, he expressed emotion at seeing former colleagues and producers now receiving their own accolades.
