Alan Jones faces trial for indecent assault and sexual touching

During the criminal trial of 85-year-old broadcaster Alan Jones, two friends of a complainant, referred to as “C”, provided police statements regarding alleged misconduct. The testimony was presented at the Downing Centre Local Court.

One witness testified that “C” had previously mentioned Jones would wear an open robe at home and would engage in inappropriate touching, such as giving massages or touching the complainant's leg. The witness also noted that in 2023, “C” described receiving an explicit text message from Jones during a previous Christmas period.

A second witness stated that “C” had made offhand remarks about receiving text messages from Jones requesting photos of genitalia. The witness noted that “C” reportedly deleted such messages.

Jones is currently standing trial on 20 counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual touching without consent involving six male complainants. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred over a 17-year period between 2003 and 2020. Jones denies that any of the alleged physical acts took place.
