Alan Kyerematen’s potential NPP return dismissed by political figures

Speculation regarding Alan Kyerematen’s potential return to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2028 general elections has been dismissed by both his current political associates and policy analysts.

Solomon Owusu, the National Director of Communications for the United Party (UP), stated that recent reports suggesting Kyerematen would rejoin the NPP if offered the presidential ticket were taken out of context. Owusu characterized the remarks as mere mockery intended to rebuke the former party and clarified that Kyerematen remains fully committed to leading the UP as its flagbearer.

Separately, Kofi Bentil, Vice President of the policy think tank IMANI Africa, also dismissed the possibility of a return. Bentil questioned the feasibility of Kyerematen leading the NPP into the next election, stating, “It will never happen.” These developments occur as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia serves as the current NPP flagbearer.
