Senator Alan Rick cleared to keep holding campaign events in Acre

A federal judge in Brazil denied a request by the Federação União Progressista to bar Senator Alan Rick, a pre‑candidate for governor of Acre, from holding further mass political events. The judge, Jair Araujo Facundes, ruled that the injunction lacked the concrete evidence required to prove that new violations of election law were imminent, and therefore could not be granted. The case stems from a large motorcade in Feijó on 21 May 2026, which the federation alleged amounted to early electoral propaganda before the legally‑permitted campaign period begins on 16 August.

The decision does not end the legal action; Rick and Feijó mayor Railson Ferreira will be summoned to present defenses and the matter will be referred to the regional electoral prosecutor for a technical assessment. Separately, Rick held a meeting with evangelical leaders in Rio Branco, discussing social‑policy proposals and reaffirming his commitment to dialogue with religious groups.
