Prime Video expands Reacher universe with Neagley spin-off

The Prime Video spin-off series ‘Neagley’, starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, has debuted to significant viewership, reaching the number two spot globally on the platform. Unlike the flagship ‘Reacher’ series based on Lee Child’s novels, this first season is an original television story developed by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton. The plot follows Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago, as she investigates the suspicious death of a childhood friend and uncovers dangerous connections in Echo Canyon.

Character development is a central theme, specifically exploring Neagley’s haphephobia (fear of touch) and her personal history. The season finale features a pivotal moment where Neagley shakes hands with Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, who makes guest appearances in the first and last episodes.

Meanwhile, the main ‘Reacher’ series has been renewed for a fifth season. Filming for season five began in Canada in the summer of 2026 and is expected to be based on the novel ‘Make Me’. While a second season of ‘Neagley’ has not yet been officially greenlit, creators and cast members have expressed interest in expanding the character's emotional and action-oriented narrative.
