Alan Ritchson in talks to star in Sony’s Helldivers film

Actor Alan Ritchson, known for starring in the Prime Video series ‘Reacher’, is reportedly in negotiations to lead a live-action film adaptation of the video game franchise ‘Helldivers’. Ritchson is being considered to replace Jason Momoa, who reportedly exited the Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions project due to creative differences.

Separately, Ritchson addressed fans regarding the ‘Reacher’ series, noting that plans to adapt the Lee Child novel ‘Die Trying’—which features a plot involving a radical militia—were stalled following a political election. While he did not name a specific politician, his comments on social media alluded to the impact of the recent election on production decisions. The ‘Reacher’ series has been renewed for a fifth season.
