Alan Ritchson reflects on lost superhero series and reveals complex PTSD diagnosis

Actor Alan Ritchson, known for his role in the TV series *Reacher*, recounted a pivotal moment early in his career. In 2005 he appeared as Aquaman in the WB‑produced series *Smallville*, an episode that set viewership records. Following that success, the network offered him a solo superhero spin‑off. The project was halted after WB and UPN merged to form The CW, and the series was ultimately recast with Justin Hartley; the pilot never aired.
