Alan Ritchson to replace Jason Momoa in Helldivers film

Alan Ritchson is in negotiations to replace Jason Momoa as the lead actor in the upcoming film adaptation of the video game Helldivers. The project, produced by Sony Pictures, follows the massive success of Helldivers 2, which sold over 12 million copies within its first twelve weeks on PlayStation.

Directed by Justin Lin, the film is currently scheduled for release on November 11, 2027. The story is expected to capture the military action, satirical humor, and cooperative chaos characteristic of the game, which features elite troops fighting alien waves across the galaxy. Ritchson, known for his role in the series Reacher, is considered a strong fit for the physical demands and action-oriented tone of the franchise.
