Alan Wilson receives SELECT Lifetime Achievement Award

Alan Wilson, the former Managing Director of SELECT, has been presented with the trade body’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor recognizes his more than 40 years of service to the Scottish construction industry.

Wilson retired in August after serving 12 years with SELECT, including seven years as Managing Director. During his tenure, he was credited with strengthening the association’s position as Scotland’s largest construction trade body and championing apprenticeships to secure the profession's future.

SELECT President Darren Crockett highlighted Wilson’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting his role in establishing the Construction Industry Coronavirus (CICV) Forum. This initiative provided a unified voice for the industry and ensured contractor concerns reached high levels of government. The award ceremony was held at The Balmoral in Edinburgh and was sponsored by Schneider Electric and Luceco Group.
