Alan Zharikov climbs the equivalent of Everest in Dijon
Alan Zharikov, a 19-year-old athlete from Dijon, successfully completed an ultra-endurance challenge by climbing the equivalent height of Mount Everest using the stairs of the Tour Philippe-le-Bon.
Starting on a Thursday morning, Zharikov aimed to ascend approximately 8,848 meters. He completed the feat in 23 hours and 50 minutes, ultimately performing 200 round trips up and down the 316 steps to reach his goal. During the 24-hour period, he reported sleeping for only 14 minutes in total.
The challenge served a charitable purpose, raising funds for Imagine for Margo, an association dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer. The effort was part of the ‘Septembre en Or’ campaign, which focuses on raising awareness and resources for childhood oncology research.
